“Assault” Weapons Ban becoming more and more unlikely

by jfz 1. April 2009 13:52

To those people who have been on an arms build-up since the Obama election, you can probably start calming down now.

From various sources like this Newsweek article and Obama’s interview with Bob Schieffer this past weekend, Congress and Obama don’t want anything to do with Assault Weapons Ban rhetoric.  When specifically asked by Schieffer whether the Administration was considering renewing the Clinton Era Assault Weapons Ban, Barry replied with “Let’s enforce the laws we already have on the books.”  This was pleasant to my ears.  He and many in Congress realize that this is one hot potato they don’t need right now.
