As I head out to attend the latest local gun show, I did a little Google research on the increase in gun sales over the last 3+ months.

I found this article.  This is a typical Liberal response to the recent sales increase.  More guns will equal more crime and police shootings.  This is her assumption.  This is their mantra.  More guns = more crime.

She produces a FBI stat that over the last 2 years, instant criminal background checks rose by 36 percent.

But what she doesn’t say is that there wasn’t a 36 percent rise in gun related crime.  If anything it has decreased.  Violent crimes rates in the U.S. have been decreasing since 1991 (two years before the Brady Bill passed which requires these National Instant Criminal Background checks.)  States that have laws delaying the purchase of firearms through waiting periods, mandatory background checks,  purchase permit requirements or license requirements have historically had comparatively higher violent crime rates.

Some opinions as to why the increase in sales have occurred is given in the above article.  In future articles on this blog, I’ll give my real opinion as to the increase in gun and ammo sales.
